Arc-Tech (Scotland) has announced its latest intake of apprentices, with four new industry starts joining the firm.

Industry specialists in the installation of Mechanical, Electrical, Renewable, Sprinklers, and Public Health Services, Arc-Tech has been operating in the Scottish construction sector since their inception in 2016 and has committed to an annual apprentice intake ever since.

The company employs 100 staff and operates across a variety of sectors, providing domestic and non-domestic solutions for some of the country's largest contractors.

The new recruits will experience the site environment first-hand whilst undertaking lecture-based theory in plumbing, electrical, and heating engineering trades over an intensive, 4-year programme with Glasgow Kelvin College and West College Scotland.

Arc-Tech (Scotland) Managing Director, John Gallacher, said: "I am delighted to welcome our new starts to Arc-Tech (Scotland). Since our company's inception, we have maintained a commitment to skills replenishment and development as we recognised early on that if we wanted to achieve and sustain success, we had to invest in our people and invest for the future.

"Our philosophy will never change as our people are the lifeblood of the company, and I am in no doubt the environment that we have created over the last eight years will be of great value to these four young men who are embarking on their journey to become qualified tradespeople."

Alongside apprentices, Arc-Tech employs 3 trainees in quantity surveying and estimating roles, whilst they also have a strong track record of graduate retention and personal development.

Arc-Tech Commercial Director, Andrew Halliday, added: "With our economy's ambitious climate targets and evolution of building standards, the Building Services sector is moving at pace, so it is important Arc-Tech remains at the forefront, but our investment does not begin and end with apprenticeships.

"We offer training programmes as well as personal development courses for our existing staff members with some great success stories over the years, particularly with our apprentices, with people moving into key technical and managerial roles.

"I myself began my career as a trainee QS and in my first year as an Arc-Tech board member, I am filled with immense pride to not only be part of our new apprentice's progression, but also the entirety of our much-valued workforce with exciting times ahead over the months and years ahead."
