Global sustainability specialist, SLR Consulting, has announced the appointment of Graeme Kelly as their new Director of Transport and Mobility Planning in Scotland, further strengthening the offering in the region.
With over 25 years of experience in the industry and a chartered transport planner, Graeme has a wealth of expertise in transport and mobility planning across disciplines including retail, residential, education, and health, and has worked in a traffic engineering lead role for a number of years, overseeing the technical side of this discipline throughout the UK.
In his new role, Graeme will be strengthening and developing SLR's transport and mobility planning offering in Scotland alongside OPEN colleagues and Iain Lamb, who joined the team as an associate transport planner earlier this year as part of the new service.
Graeme said: "This is a really exciting opportunity and I'm looking forward to developing the team here in Scotland. SLR has a fantastic offer across a wide variety of disciplines and some very exciting projects in the pipeline. Through the combination of good design and place making, giving people high quality places to live, work, shop, and learn, combined with genuine modal choice of travel, we can help make sustainability happen.
"There's a fantastic culture at SLR and the team is extremely talented with a wide-ranging skillset, so this is a fantastic opportunity for me to learn as well as share my own skills. Sustainability is central to everything we do. We are here to support and help deliver sustainable mobility in the built environment, as well as the green transition within the energy sector.
"Keeping sustainability at the centre of developing high quality places for communities to live and work in is key, and this is an exciting time to embrace this aim in Scotland."
Ian Southwell, senior technical discipline manager for transport and mobility planning in Europe, said: "Graeme's expertise and experience is going to be a real asset for us, and we're delighted to have him on the team. This is an exciting time for our Scottish office as we continue to develop our expertise in the region, and Graeme will be playing a central role in this growth."
With Graeme's appointment, SLR Consulting equips itself with a broad experience of transport and mobility planning and enhances its ability to provide tailored transport planning advice in its role as trusted advisor to a wide range of clients.
SLR Consulting is a global leader in sustainability solutions. Initially starting out as a UK business 30 years ago, it now operates worldwide with more than 3,000 people delivering client solutions across six regions.
