Morrison Community Care (CCG) Holdco has announced a the launch of construction work on a new care home development in Greenlaw Mains, Penicuik.
Comprising 54 bedrooms and located northeast of the popular town centre, the luxury facility is being delivered by innovative joint venture company between leading care developer, Morrison Community Care, and CCG (Scotland), one of the country's largest, privately-owned construction and manufacturing groups.
Specially-designed to support elderly people over the age of sixty-five, the purpose-built facility will offer 24/7 residential, nursing and dementia care services and provide a range of integrated amenities.
Each resident will have their own en-suite bedroom and access to dining rooms with meals cooked by professionally trained chefs as well as a hair salon, cinema room, private spaces for meeting family members, a champagne bar, and private gardens.
A retail facility will also be constructed alongside the care home. Located within the boundary of the development, this will be accessible to care home residents as well as those who live locally including 500 new households that are being delivered by a national housebuilder.
Morrison Community Care has a strong reputation in Scotland for delivering exceptional care home facilities and has been involved in the care sector since 1989.
After many years as an operator, the firm now exclusively operates in the development space with a UK-wide pipeline in Scotland, England and Ireland.
Morrison Community Care Managing Director, Paul Sokhi, said:
"I am delighted to see works get underway at Greenlaw Mains. Morrison Community Care pride ourselves on delivering a product that prioritises the comfort of the resident and with this development, like all others, we are applying our award-winning expertise to create home-like spaces that offer the very highest quality of life and personal care.
"Bringing this level of service to Penicuik and Midlothian is another significant milestone for us in Scotland. The care sector (and the wider NHS) is facing unprecedented pressure; not only does this new care home help address localised need and demand for elderly accommodation, but it will also deliver a wider, positive impact on the community with the creation of up to 100 jobs.
"I thank our development and construction partner CCG as well as our design team partners Holmes Miller, Cowal Design, CRGP and Design Me for reaching this moment and I look forward to seeing the facility open its doors in a year's time."
David Wylie, Managing Director of CCG (Scotland), said: "CCG proudly supports Morrison Community Care in their endeavours to support our growing ageing population in Scotland. We have been working together since 2017 where our combined expertise is helping to create some of the most luxurious care homes seen anywhere in the UK.
"Each facility utilises the breadth of expertise from within the CCG Group. From main construction to the manufacturing of timber systems and all windows & doors, amongst other services, we offer a one-stop-shop that ensures reliability and deliverability whilst achieving the necessary quality standards demanded of our client and any future operator.
"Greenlaw Mains will be the first of four developments that will be on-site in 2024 whilst works are also advancing at a new facility in Perth and we are in the final stages of another in Livingston. Undeniably, there are a few exciting months and years ahead for our company and I look forward to keeping up with progress."
