Building work to extend St Paul's Primary School in East Calder is continuing.
In order to facilitate the next phase of the works, the nursery will be temporarily relocated to the Calderwood Primary School nursery from Monday 1st July 2024 until Friday 2 August 2024.
Head of Education, Greg Welsh, said: "This is an exciting project for the school community and one that will equip the school to meet the growing demands within the local population. Moving the nursery temporarily is necessary to allow this specific piece of work to be completed safely."
The project will deliver additional and enhanced facilities for the school to help meet demands of a growing local population with the school located near Calderwood core development area, a site of significant development in the East Calder area.
Works are due to be completed in August 2024.
The £5.2milllion project will see the existing primary school building extended to provide a new purpose-built 64-place nursery as well as an enlarged multi-purpose hall, a new main entrance and support accommodation.
Upon completion of the 600m2 extension works there will be some internal alterations to return the current nursery room to a classroom and to refurbish and modernise aspects of the existing building including the kitchen, WCs and circulation spaces. External works include a new car park to the south of the site, new fencing, dedicated external play areas for the new nursery and a new grass pitch.
