SSEN Transmission has committed to consider community and landowner proposed alignments as part of its Kintore-Tealing 400kV project.
These alignments - which will be assessed in parallel with other alignment options within the refined routes SSEN Transmission recently consulted on - are around Careston, Drumoak and Echt. To ensure all viable alignments are fully assessed, overhead line alignment consultation will now take place later in the year than previously planned.
Consultations for proposed substations at Emmock (Tealing) and Hurlie (Fetteresso Forrest) will continue as planned - on 5 June at Tealing Village Hall for Emmock substation and on 11 June at Drumlithie Village Hall for Hurlie substation.
Calum Grant, Senior Development Project Manager, said: "We would like to thank everyone who kindly took the time to attend our recent series of consultation events and provided written feedback.
"We continue to assess all feedback received, which will be carefully considered to help inform the ongoing development of this project.
"In particular, we are now actively assessing alignments proposed by community stakeholders and landowners as our proposed overhead line passes Careston, Drumoak and Echt.
"A further update will be provided in advance of our overhead line alignment consultations, which will now take place later in the year.
"In the meantime, we look forward to continued constructive engagement and consultation with the local community and wider stakeholders as we finalise proposals for our planned substations."
