A joint venture company comprising Morrison Community Care Group and the CCG (Scotland) construction and manufacturing group have secured approval for two sites in Glasgow and West Lothian
Morrison Community Care (CCG) Holdco operates across the breadth of the country, from land acquisition to full completion, in the delivery of luxury private care homes for elderly people over the age of sixty-five.
Within the last two years, they have completed a brand-new care home in Dalgety Bay, Fife, and have two sites under construction in Livingston and Perth.
During this period, planning was also submitted for a mixed-use development (comprising a 60-bed care home and 18 homes for private sale) in Linlithgow and a new care home that will partially regenerate land at Yarrow Recreation Club in Anniesland.
With approval for both sites now granted, construction is set to begin this summer in Linlithgow followed by Anniesland in the autumn with future residents set to be welcomed from late 2025.
Morrison Community Care Group (MCCG), Paul Sokhi, said: "Morrison Community Care has a long-standing reputation in the design and development of care homes. We are one of the UK's leading care home developers because we are passionate about providing the very highest standard of living and service possible, having successfully done this in Scotland for over 30 years, and more recently in England and Ireland.
"This is another step on the group's journey to achieve our target of becoming the largest care home developer in the UK, to ease pressure on the NHS, and to provide quality, welcoming, sustainable care facilities for those that require them in our local communities and beyond.
"I give thanks to Glasgow City Council and West Lothian Council for granting approval as well as the efforts of our construction partner, CCG (Scotland), and design team members including Holmes Miller, Cowal Design, Design Me, and CRGP."
Both care homes will offer 60 private ensuite bed spaces and a range of integrated amenities such as a hair salon, visitor's café, cinema, dining facilities, and communal gardens.
CCG Managing Director, David Wylie, said: "We are delighted to have secured planning for Anniesland and Linlithgow. The planning process for both developments was difficult at times but the outcome is hugely positive given that they will address the needs of elderly community members as well as creating up to 100 jobs per development.
"This is also a big positive for CCG. The majority of the build programme is supported by our in-house divisions with full construction services complemented by manufacturing, utilities, M&E, joinery, plumbing and flooring installation.
"At a time when it is becoming more and more difficult to get on-site, these two projects will help sustain jobs as well as creating opportunities locally within our supply chain."
MCCG and CCG's Linlithgow development will also offer 18, two-bedroom apartments for sale which will be marketed by CCG's in-house private housing arm, CCG Homes.
CCG Homes Managing Director, Calum Murray, added: "Linlithgow is an idyllic town that is within comfortable reach of both Glasgow and Edinburgh. They will each be offered with luxury specification as standard and will be highly energy efficient thanks to enhanced building performance and a non-gas heating system.
"I am confident they will be in high-demand and I look forward to engaging with prospective buyers very soon."
