Construction sector training specialist, Sibbald has raised £45,000 for three charity partners – the Lighthouse Club, Strathcarron Hospice, and the Special Care Baby Unit at St. John's Hospital in Livingston.
Marking it's 50th anniversary in 2023, the Sibbald team embarked on a journey of philanthropy, uniting in support of three cherished charities. The company engaged in various fundraising initiatives, including a 50K walk/run, a challenging Ben Nevis Hike, weekly 50/50 raffle draws, and an unforgettable Anniversary Dinner & Auction.
With the collective effort of the Sibbald team and the generous contribution from the Sibbald Family, the company accomplished a remarkable feat, raising an astounding £45,000. This substantial sum was distributed equally among three esteemed charity partners, each representing causes close to the company's hearts.
The Lighthouse Club- Construction Industry Charity, a beacon of hope in the construction industry, received a portion of our donation. Renowned for their provision of holistic support encompassing emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing, the Lighthouse Club plays a pivotal role in nurturing the welfare of the construction community and their families. Our longstanding association with this indispensable charity reflects our enduring commitment to social responsibility.
Strathcarron Hospice, our second beneficiary, was chosen with profound consideration. Recognized for their exceptional provision of specialist hospice and end-of-life care, Strathcarron Hospice extends compassionate support to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses. Our contribution of £15,000 will significantly bolster their invaluable services, covering the costs of a day's operation across Forth Valley, Cumbernauld, and Kilsyth. Moreover, our engagement underscores our dedication to enhancing healthcare accessibility and promoting research and education in palliative care.
Lastly, SCBU – Special Care Baby Unit at St. John's Hospital in Livingston. Inspired by the exemplary care provided to the daughter of one of the company's directors, Iona, during her premature birth eight years ago, Sibbald sought to reciprocate the kindness bestowed upon her family. By funding the creation of a new virtual tour for families, it aims to alleviate the anxiety and uncertainty often experienced by parents and caregivers in such challenging circumstances.
Sibbald said: "In commemorating our 50th anniversary through acts of kindness and generosity, Sibbald reaffirms its enduring commitment to making a positive impact in the community. As we reflect on our rich legacy of integrity and compassion, we look forward to continuing our journey supporting local charities and causes for the good of the community in the years to come."
