Glasgow City Council's Planning Committee has granted PMI Development permission for a new 161-bedroom apart-hotel.

The 18-storey property comprises a Tesco Metro store let on a long-term lease and a vacant building fronting Cambridge Street with redevelopment potential.

The luxury guestrooms will have the services of a hotel, which will include a lounge, a bar, staff offices, as well as laundry facilities.


PMI is working closely with a national operator to take a long-term lease on the property, which is expected to be announced soon.

As reported on GlasgowLive, PMI Developments Director Nigel Jones commented: "It's fantastic to see such great design recognised by the planning committee. This development will bring much-needed investment to the Sauchiehall Street area of the city."

"We have had a positive working relationship with Glasgow City Council, who have been proactive throughout the planning process," added Nigel.
