West Lothian Council has unveiled updated draft design proposals for the redevelopment of Main Street, which aims to create a more vibrant, accessible and welcoming place.
Winchburgh Community Development Trust in partnership with the Council and Winchburgh Developments Ltd successfully applied for Sustrans Scotland's Street Design Programme in 2018. The Winchburgh Street Design project forms part of a wider vision for the regeneration of Winchburgh.
Since the Winchburgh Street Design Project started at the beginning of 2023, the project partners have received hundreds of comments and ideas from the community to help shape the designs.
The partners have met with the community at various engagement activities and gathered feedback through the project website and offline surveys with residents and local businesses. Research has also been carried out to understand people and vehicle movements on Main Street.
Using all of the information and ideas collected, the project partners have collaboratively developed draft design proposals representing the community's aspirations and aims detailed in the project's objectives.
Now, the community is asked to have their say on each of the proposals. Visit Winchburgh Street Design to view the designs and complete the surveys for each one.
Alternatively, you can request a design booklet and paper survey from the project team by emailing winchburgh@sustrans.org.uk or calling 0131 346 1384.
The surveys will close on Tuesday 13th February.
