The JR Group has commenced work on a new housing development in the village of Croftamie, in rural Stirlingshire, on behalf of its client, Rural Stirling Housing Association (RSHA).
The development is located next to the village's Buchanan Crescent and will include 14 new homes, comprising a mix of high-quality cottage flats and houses, all managed by RSHA for social rent.
The new energy efficient homes will feature air source heat pumps and fire safety sprinkler systems provided by The JR Group's in-house division, Sprinkler Scotland Ltd.
The total cost of the 14 homes at Buchanan Crescent, Croftamie is £3.5 million, of which £2.4 million is being funded by the Scottish Government’s ‘Affordable Housing Supply Programme’. Stirling Council is providing £140k and the balance is being met by RSHA.
The design partners helping to deliver the project, include Collective Architecture, G3 Consulting Engineers. Brownriggs and Macdonald & Cameron.
Gary McGregor, Managing Director for The JR Group, said: "New socially rented homes in the rural villages are vital, so it is great to be working with Rural Stirling Housing Association to bring this project to fruition. The project has been in the pipeline for quite some time, so it is great to finally be commencing work on the development.
"The housetypes we are developing address the requirement for smaller sized, affordable housing in the area. With energy efficiency at the forefront, we are delivering these units to a very high standard to provide fantastic homes fit for the future. We look forward to building our relationship with Rural Stirling Housing Association and progressing with the project in the coming months."
