Leading MEP engineering design consultancy, Black & White (B&W) Engineering, has announced the expansion of its Scottish business with a new leadership team for its Edinburgh office.

The office was established by one of B&W's long-standing directors, Brian Dryburgh, following his return to Scotland after 26 years in Dubai, where Black & White's headquarters are located. Leading the Edinburgh office are Technical Directors Ross Leask and Grant Dalgleish.

Reflecting on the past two and half years, Grant Dalgleish said: "Setting up and growing a new business in Scotland has been an exciting journey including the challenges of local brand recognition and recruitment of highly skilled people. It is testament to our one global team, international projects and collaborative learning culture that our Edinburgh office recorded a successful first year's revenue."

The Edinburgh team is at the end of their second full financial year and settled into their third office premises, the newly refurbished Verdant building in the South Gyle business park. The team has grown significantly, contributing to the global growth of the consultancy which now has over 450 employees.

Following recent key hires, Ross and Grant have a senior team of mechanical and electrical Associate Directors and Principal Engineers in place which allows their recruitment to focus on Senior Engineer, Engineer and Graduate Engineer levels.

Ross Leask said: "We continue to gain increasing recognition within the local market as word spreads that B&W offers something different to the other MEP consultants in the region. With a focus on process driven resource planning and internal briefing our goal is to ensure our employees are provided with the space, resources and support to learn and grow without being overwhelmed with workload."

Driven by B&W's global learning and development strategy, B&W Academy and its graduate training programme, the consultancy offers on-the-job training specific to the data centre sector.

The highly skilled and motivated team has earned the trust of several high-profile clients, nationally and globally, positioning B&W Engineering as a leading provider of MEP engineering design services with a strong focus on the data centre market across Europe.

Steven Horn, European Director at B&W Engineering, said: "The continued growth of the Edinburgh office is testament to the highly talented team who are carving out a unique MEP specialist service in data centre design. At B&W, our people are our greatest asset and we have invested heavily in their development to foster a culture of continuous learning and provide opportunities for professional growth. The growth of the Edinburgh office, alongside our Newcastle, London, Manchester, Frankfurt and Paris offices, reflect the European team's hard work, dedication and ability to continuously adapt to the evolving requirements of the markets in which we operate."
