ScottishPower has been announced as the title sponsor of the 2023 Scottish Women's Football Awards, following the green energy firms historic investment as as Principal Partner of both the Scottish Women's Premier League and Scottish Women's Football.
The ScottishPower Scottish Women's Football Awards will take place on Saturday 25th November at Hampden Park in Glasgow in a glittering ceremony that will shine a spotlight on success and recognise achievement both on and off the pitch.
For 2023, ScottishPower is also introducing a new award – the ScottishPower award for most sustainable club – recognising clubs that innovate and successfully navigate the many challenges facing grassroots football.
Commenting, Scottish Women's Football CEO Aileen Campbell said: "I'm delighted that ScottishPower have continued their unprecedented backing of the women's game in Scotland by partnering this celebration of our achievements both on and off the pitch as title sponsors.
"This is sure to be a fantastic night, and there is still time to nominate via the SWF website to highlight the great stories throughout our game, from the premier league role models to the volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to open up opportunities for girls to play the game they love."
Keith Anderson, Chief Executive of ScottishPower, said: "We're really excited to be sponsoring the 2023 Scottish Women's Football Awards and continuing ScottishPower's support for the women's game, which has got off to a flying start this season. The awards are a brilliant way to recognise what the players and their teams are achieving and to showcase how they are inspiring women and girls the length and breadth of the country and we're very proud to be part of that.
"I've no doubt the competition for the awards will be just as fiercely contested as the competition on the pitch and there will be lots of great stories to tell. There's not long to go until nominations close, so I would encourage everyone to get their nominations in before the final whistle!"
