CCG (Scotland) has announced the successful completion of a planned maintenance workstream for Lanarkshire Housing Association in Motherwell.
The firm was appointed to the 111-home contract earlier this year and has since installed 11 composite door sets and 593 Passivhaus-accredited triple-glazed windows that were installed by CCG's subsidiary divisions, 'Manufacturing' and 'Asset Management' (AM), as a part of a full supply and fit contract.
The products are fabricated at the group's HQ in Cambuslang using the material known as PVCu, a form of thermoplastic that offers enhanced durability and drastically lower maintenance requirements over a 40-year lifespan.
Working in partnership with one of the world's leading polymer suppliers REHAU UK, the products offer improved security and acoustic performance standards whilst the triple-glazed, Passivhaus-accredited windows also have advanced energy efficiency characteristics.
The term 'Passivhaus' is commonly used in new housebuilding whereby homes are created to such an enhanced standard of performance and are so well-insulated, they require very little need for space heating.
The GENEO Window works similarly; the triple-glazing and insulation integrated into the frame combine to lower heat loss by as much as 76% when compared to a double-glazed window of the same style. Acoustic performance is also improved as a result.
Lanarkshire Housing Association Vice Chairperson, Fiona Tonner, said: "The Association has delivered a "fabric first" project through the installation of high-quality triple-glazing. This has improved energy efficiency and made tenants' homes warmer and easier to heat. We are delighted to acknowledge the financial contribution of the Scottish Ministers and Social Housing Net Zero Fund Programme."
CCG Asset Management Manager, Jim Cunningham, said: "CCG's in-house expertise is unrivalled. The scope of capabilities in construction and planned maintenance has continued to grow thanks to years of sustainable business growth built upon an ethos of continuous improvement and investment.
"Our Manufacturing division and our partnership with REHAU UK is a testament to that approach. We have continued to evolve and make decisions, even at the height of the global pandemic, to expand our offering to include advanced products such as the GENO which, during this prevailing cost of living crisis, will be crucial to supporting tenants such as those of Lanarkshire HA.
"We were delighted to be involved with Lanarkshire HA in Motherwell and hope to work with the association again in the very near future."
Samsara McDonald, REHAU's Commercial Sales Manager for Scotland said: "At REHAU, we have long been developing progressive solutions that will help optimise our buildings for years to come, putting the wellbeing of occupants at the forefront. CCG is a long-standing partner of ours with a similar ethos and sustainability values. Because our relationship is built on years of trust and genuine collaboration, together we are able to help forward-thinking organisations like Lanarkshire Housing Association, turn their ambitions into reality."
