Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) are seeking prospective contractors to deliver Specialist Peatland Restoration Services.
FLS are inviting potential contractors to bid on elements of the available £66million contract.
The contract term is from three to five years (maximum) and is divided into 14 lots across the whole of Scotland and the two main areas of work will involve site rewetting and specialist peatland harvesting, although the area, complexity, treatment requirement will vary from site to site.
Jenny Gilbertson, for Forestry and Land Scotland's Peatland Team, said: "We look after Scotland's forests and land for the benefit of all and peatland restoration is a key feature of our work.
"There are extensive areas of deep peat on Scotland's national forests and land, including many which are afforested, and we aim to restore 3,000 hectares of degraded peatland a year by 2027 onwards
"Our restoration of peatlands will make a significant contribution towards the Scottish Government's wider Peatland Action delivery programme, which is an integral part of Scotland's response to the Climate Emergency.
"Extending and increasing the contractor base is crucial to helping us achieving our targets. This is a good opportunity for businesses across the country to explore this potential area of work and, by engaging with SDP, to open up new possibilities for securing work."
