CCG (Scotland) has reached a major milestone in the re-development of the historic former Glasgow Meat Market with first handovers set to take place in May.
Close to 150 years after the market opened, the development has already had a positive impact on the surrounding community with commuters from the city centre and the east met with a dramatic and vibrant new sense of place as they travel along Duke Street.
The site lay derelict for over ten years before CCG (Scotland) took up occupancy on behalf of Home Group Scotland where 252 new homes will be made available for mid-market rent, the first of two phases of regeneration that will be undertaken at the six-acre site.
Elsa Brailey, head of development for Home Group in Scotland, said: "It is great to see this historic site, left untouched for way too long, turned into a fantastic set of homes that will enhance such an important community.
"We are delighted with the design and quality of the homes and look forward to people moving in and setting down long-term roots here."
The former Meat Market is one of many developments that are being led by CCG in the city of Glasgow; 900 mixed-tenure homes are presently under construction including 92 homes at the Water Row Masterplan in Govan as well as Scotland's largest Passivhaus development in Dundashill.
A further tranche of projects will become live over the summer period.
