Network Rail and four supply chain partners are to take part in the National School and College Leaver Show (NSCL) 2023 to highlight the routes available to a rewarding railway career.
QTS, Story Contracting, AmcoGiffen and BAM Nuttall, who work with Network Rail to deliver railway projects across Scotland, are attending to showcase the opportunities this dynamic industry has to offer.
The event will take place over March 28 and March 29 at the SEC in Glasgow.
From modern apprenticeships to graduate schemes, as well as more traditional pathways and entry level roles, the railway offers a wide variety of career paths.
School and college leavers attending the show can engage with those directly involved in the rail industry - which employs over 13,000 people in Scotland and is made up of around 150 different organisations and suppliers.
From engineering to finance, project management to procurement and ecology to planning, the hugely diverse range of jobs that make up the industry each play an important part in helping to run, maintain and develop a service used by millions of passengers, and freight customers, each year.
Jeremy Spence, senior programme manager at Network Rail, said: "Network Rail and our supply chain partners are looking forward to taking part in this year's National School and College Leaver Show.
"It's not always easy, when trying to enter the workplace for the first time, to know what options are available to you. This event provides an ideal platform by allowing a range of businesses and industries to directly engage with future employees and help steer them in taking the first tentative steps on their career path.
"Speaking from experience, the rail industry offers an innovative, exciting and diverse working environment that spans many different disciplines. As such, it also provides an opportunity to grow and move within the business as your work-life progresses - Scotland's Railway truly is a career in the making."
The NSCL Show is free to attend and offers school and college leavers, as well as young adults, parents and carers, the chance to engage with leading employers, colleges, universities and training providers in a face-to-face, interactive environment.
