Allie Walker, SSEN Transmission HR Business Partner said: "We're absolutely thrilled to take home the Employer of the Year prize at this year's Utility Week Awards, and we couldn't be happier.

"The whole team have worked extensively to ensure we place people at the centre of our business, and the initiatives we have created to ensure this is upheld will help to pave the way to creating a workforce that is engaged, inclusive and working together as we deliver a network for net zero.

"This award is a real recognition of the huge amount of work they have carried out, and I'm immensely proud of them and all they have achieved."

SSEN Transmission was also nominated in three other categories at the Utility Week Awards. They were up for Capital Project of the Year for their Tealing Substation Extension project, the Innovation Award for their sector-leading HVDC work, and the Community Investor Award for their native-tree planting partnership with Argyll and Bute Council and Argyll and the Isles Coast and Countryside Trust (ACT) for their work to help grow Scotland's native rainforest.

The firm is also going through an exciting period of growth, with SSEN Transmission hiring 400 new roles across the north of Scotland between April this year and March 2023.
