RSK has added the expertise of one of Scotland's leading engineering solution providers, WGM Engineering, to its ranks in a new acquisition.
The Glasgow-based family business was established in 1986. Today, a team of 365 supports the provision of mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering disciplines. Aligning these services with strategically located off-site manufacturing facilities, offers a total turnkey solution to clients countrywide. The business has recently developed a renewables capability to support its own and its clients net zero ambitions. Supplementing WGM’s in-house service capabilities are, project management, technical engineering, design, electrical vehicle charging and off-site modular build.
WGM's client base includes Scottish Water, bp Pulse, Scottish Gas Networks and Arnold Clark and its recent projects include a £20m capital upgrade of Dalmarnock Wastewater Treatment Works and, with partners bp Pulse, the delivery of the EV infrastructure for Police Scotland. WGM’s annual turnover in its last financial year is £45 million.
Managing Director Ian Mathieson said: "We are absolutely delighted to be joining the RSK Group with its wealth of engineering talent. RSK, with companies such as Binnies and MWH Treatment, has become a real powerhouse in the water sector. We are looking forward to working closely with the 175 companies within the RSK family as WGM enters this new chapter of its development and growth."
RSK Group CEO Alan Ryder said: "Our acquisition of WGM Engineering is testament to the skill, experience and work ethic which has seen the company attract a high-profile client list to whom WGM is a trusted partner. This commitment to excellence and an abiding ambition to develop the business further and enhance employee skills to encompass renewables and emerging technologies makes WGM an excellent fit for RSK family."
As RSK continues to deliver its ambitious growth strategy it is now comprised of more than 175 companies, employing 10,000 people. The Group’s annual turnover at the end of FY22 is expected to be in excess of £800 million, more than double the previous year.
The acquisition advisors supporting WGM were French Duncan and Brodies LLP.
