East Dunbartonshire Council are seeking views to help guide future developments in the region and the preparation of a new planning document on Water Environment and Flood Risk.
The Council is also updating advice on Green Infrastructure and Green Networks.
Members of the public are being invited to have their say on both, which will help to support the Local Development Plan 2 - the overall document which sets out a long-term land use strategy and illustrates preferred locations for future developments.
Consultation is taking place until 14 October. You can access draft copies of the guidance and further information by visiting www.eastdunbarton.gov.uk/water-green-consultation or emailing the Council's Land Policy team at development.plan@eastdunbarton.gov.uk.
The aim of the Water Environment and Flood Risk guidance is to provide relevant information on managing and enhancing the water environment to inform the siting, layout and design of developments in East Dunbartonshire.
It will bring together existing Council guidance on flooding and drainage, and river basin management.
The Green Infrastructure and Green Network document is an update to existing advice and sets out measures to ensure that developments will protect, enhance and manage the existing green infrastructure and green network - for existing assets and new opportunities.
Councillor Pamela Marshall, Vice Convener of the Council's Place, Neighbourhood and Corporate Assets Committee, said: "I hope as many people as possible take the chance to read the draft documents and have their say. The guidance within both provides detail and information to assist in the determination of planning applications, helping to protect and enhance East Dunbartonshire."
