Scottish Housing Day, Wednesday 14 September 2022, will recognise the positive impact that housing makes to the lives of people and communities across the country, as well as communicating to people about their housing options.
The theme of Scottish Housing Day this year is 'Sustainability'. The six indicators that the Scottish Housing Day working group established are: affordability, net zero, space standards, accessibility, resource use and health and wellbeing.
Cllr Glynis Sinclair, Housing and Property Chair said: "Scottish Housing Day allows the Council’s Housing team and partners to reach out to communities and raise awareness of the housing options available to people across Highland. The event also highlights the work being carried out by housing providers and partner agencies to support tenants and customers to sustain their tenancies.
"We are living in very challenging times and the work that the tenant participation team will be focussing on over the coming months is to reach out to as many tenants as possible, to signpost those who need help to appropriate sources of support. This will be done through the tenant newsletter and a series of online webinars."
The Highland Council Housing Tenant Participation Team are hosting a public event to celebrate Scottish Housing Day on Wednesday 14 September. This drop in event will be held at the Spectrum Centre, Inverness between 1:00pm and 6:00pm. Tea and Coffee will be available and a face painter to keep the children entertained.
