Swan Group has appointed Marshall Construction to construct its new Newhall Street development, with completion expected in August 2024.
The development will see the delivery of 151 flats, playing an important role in Glasgow's East End Regeneration plan. Located alongside the River Clyde, the development will be comprised of five apartment blocks consisting of one and two-bed apartments. Once completed, the development will provide direct access to the city centre in addition to being only a short walk from Glasgow Green.
Swan Group are delighted to be starting this development after the recent Covid-19 pandemic and consequent lockdowns caused delays to the initial project timeline. The Group effectively utilised such time to resolve any remaining matters in preparation for the return to normal working conditions.
Construction progress at the Newhall Street development further adds to Swan Group's growing pipeline of active developments and projects. The team, alongside regular working partners, have been working on this project for a prolonged period and are therefore excited to finally be delivering these high-quality homes.
Phil McGinlay, Managing Director of Swan Group, said: "Given recent hurdles and present economic uncertainty, we are proud to see our continued hard work pay off as another stage of the development process is achieved. The team has worked through a variety of obstacles to reach this point, dealing with restricted working conditions, constrained working partners and heightened economic pressures to name a few. The resilience of our team is now being rewarded as construction commences on-site to deliver a high-quality development."
