BEAR Scotland has announced a programme of coring investigation works on the A1 at Oaktree Junction in advance of future resurfacing works.

A road closure will be in place between 19:30 and 06:00, with traffic wishing to join the A1 southbound at Oaktree Junction diverted eastbound along the A199 to join the A1 at Abbotsview Junction.


The main carriageway of the A1 southbound at Oaktree Junction will be unaffected by these works.

Emergency services will be given access through the works at all times.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland's South East Network Manager, said: "We need to close the slip road for safety while work is taking place, however we've scheduled the works at night to minimise any disruption.

"We're grateful to road users and the local community for their patience and understanding."

Relevant stakeholders have been consulted in advance to make them aware of the plans.
