Summit Facilities Services has been awarded a four-year contract to carry out electrical testing, repairs and maintenance on behalf of Perth and Kinross Council's Social Housing Department.
The Dundee-based business, which also owns and operates Tayside Automatic Doors, is accredited by SNIPEF, SELECT, NICEIC and Constructionline, and undertakes a range of routine and specialist contracts for private and public sector clients. Since its inception in December 2019, Summit Facilities Services has placed an emphasis on providing quality trades people and now boasts a directly employed workforce of over 20 electricians, plumbers, heating engineers, joiners and painters.
Summit Facilities Services Director, Nick McGill, said: 'The scope of this contract with Perth and Kinross Council sees us working with their portfolio of 7,700 domestic properties. This is another substantial contract in the social housing sector for Summit Facilities Services and it complements our contracts with Caledonia Housing Association, Angus Housing Association, Prospect Housing Association and other Registered Social Landlords.
"Whether we're providing routine checks or implementing a planned maintenance programme, we strive to provide an efficient, professional and cost-effective service backed up by several industry accreditations. The additional workload from this contract also allows us to recruit a further two apprentice electricians, bringing our total number of apprentices to five. It's very important to us that we offer opportunities to the next generation of tradespeople as an investment in both the future of our business and the sector at large."
