ScottishPower Renewables has made a 'green sweep' with a number of successful Contracts for Difference (CfDs) awards.
A total of 16 renewable energy projects in Scotland, England and Wales through the Allocation Round 4 process – including its first-ever onshore wind and solar PV projects to be supported through the scheme – as well as the East Anglia THREE offshore windfarm.
The company secured a contract for the East Anglia Three offshore wind project 1400MW, five onshore wind projects totalling 396MW and ten solar PV sites totalling 326MW.
The projects will give an important boost to the drive to increase the amount of homegrown clean energy generated in the UK for the UK and makes a major contribution toward the Government's ambition of 50GW of offshore wind by 2030.
Charlie Jordan, Chief Executive of ScottishPower Renewables, said: "This is record result, almost doubling our capacity in one green swoop across three major technologies that will deliver the secure, green and affordable power generation this country needs for the future.
"It is testament to our team's ability to deliver at scale and pace across offshore, onshore and solar with an enviable pipeline of projects throughout the UK and Ireland.
"From a renewables pioneer to our renewable prowess today, ScottishPower means business in tackling the climate emergency; delivering jobs, boosting the British supply chain and delivering economic growth in communities across the country.
"We can't wait to get started."
The results follow on from a highly successful Scotwind process where ScottishPower Renewables, with its partner Shell, won the right to develop more sites any other developer.
Part of the Iberdrola Group, ScottishPower Renewables is at the forefront of the UK renewable energy industry with over 40 operational sites across the UK and Ireland.
