Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has submitted detailed plans to West Lothian Council for the provision of 190 new and affordable homes on land located near Beatlie Road, within Winchburgh.
This proposed development, Seton Rise, located near Beatlie Road in Winchburgh, is expected to deliver 190 new homes, and forms part of the wider Winchburgh masterplan that when complete will deliver at least 3,800 new homes, improved transport links, employment opportunities, and state-of-the-art schools. This impressive masterplan also provides stunning new outdoor spaces and local amenities that include a new canal marina, the new Auldcathie District Park, as well as a new motorway junction, which is now under construction.
Taylor Wimpey's application for Approval of Matters Specified by Condition (AMSC) forms part of the delivery of the masterplan vision, integrating its proposed new Seton Rise development with the existing new housing and features completed in phase 1 of the masterplan.
The proposals include the provision of 171 two, three and four bedroom private homes, as well as 19 affordable homes in a mix of two and three bedroom terraced homes together with the associated infrastructure such as roads, parking and open space that is required for a development of this scale. This location is ideally situated to appeal to a wide range of buyers within the overall masterplan vision for Winchburgh, offering the perfect balance of quiet rural life with the convenience of Edinburgh close by. The new homes planned for Seton Rise will also enjoy convenient connections to great local amenities and areas of open space.
Pauline Mills, Land and Planning Director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland adds: "Taylor Wimpey can confirm that an application for Approval of Matters Specified by Condition has been submitted for our land near Beatlie Road in Winchburgh, and we are looking forward to continuing to playing our part in the delivery of the Winchburgh masterplan.
"We will continue to pursue our planning consent this year, which will allow us to get on site as soon as possible in late 2022.
"As well as an impressive range of new private and affordable homes, our proposed development would provide a range of economic benefits for the local Winchburgh area which includes supporting over 160 jobs per year of construction, as well as the attraction of new customers to local businesses from those who choose to live in one of the new homes this development aims to deliver."
John Hamilton, CEO, Winchburgh Developments Ltd said: "We are proud of what we have achieved in Winchburgh so far, and it's great to see Taylor Wimpey moving on with their latest development, having previously completed an excellent development at Seton Park. I believe that, when complete, the range of homes available, combined with the lifestyle on offer is absolutely unrivalled at the moment in Scotland. We're really excited about what is yet to come and hope that existing and new residents feel the same."
