Merchant Homes has awarded contractor McGill the plumbing and heating contract at its ongoing housing development in Dundee at Summerfield Park.
McGill's Plumbing Division is already on site, and is carrying out various plumbing and heating installation works, including hot and cold water pipework, soils and waste and sanitary ware, and heating pipework, gas pipework, boilers and radiators in a dozen new-build homes. The four-month contract is currently valued at around £130,000, and is managed by Plumbing Manager Darren Malpas.
McGill is one of the largest main contractors based in the North East of Scotland, working with a large number of clients in the local area including Abertay Housing Association, Angus Council, University of St Andrews, and Campion Homes. McGill is also one of the building sector's fastest-growing companies in Scotland, with close to 300 employees now based in sites in Dundee and North Lanarkshire, and with all-trades teams working in almost every region of the country.
Speaking of this latest contract award, CEO Errol Lawrie, commented: "As a Dundee-based business of more than 40 years McGill's commitment to the local area is second to none. We're always delighted to play a part in bringing quality new-build homes to the area, and attracting more families to the city.
"Our all-trades offering means we can mix, for example, the largest renewables contracts, with projects that are local and give back to the community which has supported us for four decades. We're delighted to be beginning this work alongside Merchant Homes, and look forward to partnering with them more in the years to come."
