CCG (Scotland) has announced that two of their projects have been shortlisted for this year's Homes for Scotland Awards.
One of the most prestigious on the Scottish awards circuit, Homes for Scotland, which represents 200 member organisations from the Scottish housebuilding sector, will host the awards as part of their annual lunch taking place in May where 1000 delegates will come together to celebrate the contribution of new housebuilding to the wider Scottish economy over the last year.
Vying for a position in the Medium Development of the Year category will be Bingham Avenue, a recently-completed project located in the area of Duddingston that was delivered on behalf of the City of Edinburgh Council. The development consists of 40 one, two, and three-bedroom homes in a mix of flats, cottage flats and colony-style house types. Designed by Anderson Bell Christie, the former school site places emphasis on catering for a broad demographic of tenants as well as surrounding the wider community with an ecology-focused landscaping strategy that includes an abundance of private and communal greenspace.
Our second shortlisted project is Whitlawburn Regeneration, a large-scale, 311-home development located in Cambuslang. CCG, in partnership with hub South West, is leading the construction of 230 socially-rented properties on behalf of South Lanarkshire Council whilst a further 81 homes for sale are being led by CCG Homes. 'Western Terrace' comprises two-and-three-bedroom, semi-detached and terraced house types and is a major hit with buyers with over 50% of properties now sold. Designed by Stallan Brand, the new, highly energy-efficient homes have replaced run-down, mid-rise terraces with a masterplan that improves accessibility and tackles fuel poverty whilst creating a new, integrated neighbourhood for the wider community of East Whitlawburn to enjoy.
CCG will be hoping to win for a second year in a row after CCG Homes jointly secured the Large Development of the Year Award for Riverford Gardens in 2021
