Three projects from Clark Contracts have been named as finalists in the 2022 Scottish Property Awards, which will be held on Wednesday 30th March at the Glasgow Doubletree by Hilton Hotel.
The contractor's recent fit out of 4-5 Lochside Avenue in Edinburgh, designed by SPACE, for Knight Property Group has been shortlisted for Development of the Year (Commercial Buildings), with client Knight Property Group also shortlisted for 'Property Company of the Year'. The 43,000sq.ft. pavilion-style building underwent a significant refurbishment and sets the standard for sustainable office redevelopment, with a host of sustainable and well-being enhancements.
Meanwhile, Brewer's Court in Edinburgh, designed by jmarchitects is a finalist in the 'Build to Rent Development of the Year' category. Clark Contracts completed the design and build of the purpose built student accommodation development on Calton Road, within Edinburgh's Old Town, for Student Roost. The building features 87-beds across 5-storeys along with a main reception, common room, laundry, gym, outdoor courtyard and cycle storage.
Bridgeton Civic Hub, which is the new home of the Scottish Trade Union Congress (STUC), has been shortlisted for Regeneration Project of the Year and the Architectural Excellence Award (Commercial Use). Clark Contracts completed the construction of the building for Clyde Gateway in 2021, working alongside Architect, Keppie Design. The two-storey office now provides approximately 21,000sq.ft. of office space.
The Scottish Property Awards was founded in 2014 and aims to recognise the best new commercial and public buildings in Scotland. The independent competition is judged by a panel of experts drawn from across the sector, bringing together industry experience and market knowledge to recognise the greatest achievements in the built environment across Scotland.
Founded in 1978, Clark Contracts Ltd is a privately owned main contractor with six operating divisions; Construction, Fit Out, Small Works, Retail, Maintenance and Manufactured Joinery. The company works throughout the UK, employing over 220 employees and won the 'Best Place to Work' award at the UK wide Construction News Talent Awards 2019.
