BEAR Scotland Announce A85 Road Surface Improvement Works

Construction News Image
BEAR Scotland have announced road surface improvement works on the A85 at St Fillans, due to get underway on Monday 31 January.

The proposed improvements will see almost 1.6km of the A85 resurfaced, creating a smoother and safer route for road users.

The works are expected to take place between 4pm and midnight and all work is scheduled to be completed by midnight Wednesday 9 February, subject to weather conditions. No works are planned for Friday or Saturday nights.

To protect roadworkers and road users, a 10mph convoy traffic management system will be in place on the A85 whilst resurfacing operations are being undertaken. Traffic management will be removed during daytime periods when works are not taking place to keep disruption to a minimum, although road users are advised to drive with care as they will be running on a temporary surface.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland's Representative for the North West, said: "This surfacing project at St Fillans will greatly improve the quality and safety of this section of the A85 for road users.

"The 10mph convoy system is essential for the safety of our teams and motorists, however we have taken steps to minimise disruption by avoiding works at the weekend and removing traffic management outwith working hours.

"We thank motorists for their patience in advance and would also encourage them to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date travel information."
