Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has completed the acquisition of land at Whitefield Road in North Dunfermline – a key milestone in the delivery of a brand-new neighbourhood Whitefields, Dunfermline.
Pre-construction and enabling work is now underway off Whitefield Road. This work is likely to take several months to complete and includes the demolition of the Wester Whitefield farm buildings.

As Whitefields, Dunfermline progresses there will be a substantial range of benefits to the local community.
These include:
• The creation of around 1,400 new properties offering a range of apartments as well as detached, semi-detached and terraced homes to appeal to a wide range of potential home- buyers
• A new primary school
• Provision for shops and community facilities
• 25% affordable homes
• New cycleways and pedestrian footpaths to encourage green active travel throughout the development that will also connect with the existing local communities
• Key transport infrastructure improvements to Kingseat Road (West) and Whitefield Road (B912)
• Incorporation of the new Northern Link Road into the development including pedestrian crossings to provide a safe route to schools
• Meadow grasslands to provide future homeowners with access to beautiful green open spaces to encourage healthy and sustainable living
• An equipped play area and an outdoor meeting space in Phase One of the development

Pauline Mills, Land and Planning Director at Taylor Wimpey East Scotland said: "After many years of working with Fife Council and a complex network of landowners, we are very pleased to have acquired the land at Wester Whitefield Farm, off Whitefield Road, and to have taken the first steps of creating our new neighbourhood Whitefields by removing the old farm steading.
"Whitefields will be a brand-new community and place to call home in North Dunfermline. With the delivery of around 1,400 new homes, the creation of major new infrastructure and improvements to existing transport links, as well as the provision of substantial community benefits. Whitefields will have its roots firmly in North Dunfermline while supporting the existing local communities of Kingseat and Halbeath as its new community develops and grows.
"The demolition of Wester Whitefield Farm will take around two months to complete, and it is the beginning of a significant programme of pre-construction enabling works which, in overall terms, will take around 15 months to complete.
"As well as delivering much-needed new homes in North Dunfermline, Whitefields will also provide a range of economic benefits for the local area which includes supporting over 160 jobs per year of construction, as well as the attraction of new customers to local businesses."
