Sanctuary has completed the construction of almost 100 new homes for social rent across four sites in Port Glasgow and Greenock.
Inverclyde Council leader Stephen McCabe, as well as fellow ward representative, Cllr David Wilson, went to visit one of the completed sites on Dubbs Road in Port Glasgow, which is providing 24 of the new homes.
A further 12 houses and four cottage flats have been constructed on Lilybank Road, while 12 houses have been built at Port Glasgow's Broadstone Avenue. The largest of the four sites has seen 44 flats constructed at Mount Pleasant in Greenock.
The £13.8m multi-site development has received £7.2m of grant funding from the Scottish Government and has been constructed by Sanctuary's contractor Cruden Building (West). All of the 96 new homes are being managed by Sanctuary Scotland.
Cllr McCabe said: "I was pleased to be able to visit the new Sanctuary flats at Dubbs Court and speak to Mary, one of the residents. She is delighted with her new home.
"The flats have been built to a very high standard and designed specifically to meet the needs of people over 55, including the provision of a passenger lift."
Sanctuary's development director – Scotland, Gillian Lavety, added: "This was our first project in Inverclyde, so we are delighted to have delivered these homes, which are an important addition to the area's social housing stock for local people."
