BEAR Scotland is set to start road surfacing improvement works worth £110,000 on the northbound section of the A92 at Luthrie on Wednesday 10 November.
The overnight improvements will address defects in the road surface on the single carriageway section of the A92 past Luthrie, creating a safer and smoother road surface for motorists.
The project is scheduled to begin on Wednesday 10 November and is expected to take place over three nights. Works will take place between 7.30pm and 6.30am each night with all works expected to be completed by Saturday 13 November at 6.30am.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers as well as motorists, a lane closure with a 10mph convoy system will be in place during overnight works. Access to properties and Luthrie village will be maintained throughout the works. All traffic management will be removed outwith working hours.
Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the surfacing improvements to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.
Commenting on the improvements, Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland's North East Unit Representative, said: "This £110,000 surfacing project on the A92 at Luthrie will upgrade the existing road surface, greatly improving the quality and safety of this section of the route for road users.
"The traffic management proposed is essential to ensure the safety of our teams and motorists, however we have taken steps to minimise disruption by carrying out the works overnight and removing the traffic management during the daytime.
"We thank motorists for their patience in advance while our teams carry out these essential improvements on the A92. We encourage road users to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date traffic information and allow some extra time to reach their destination."
