Public Consultation Launches On Future Developments In Stirlingshire

Construction News Image
Scottish Water has launched a public consultation seeking input on the future development of two two Stirlingshire beauty spots.

Visitors to Carron Valley and North Third Reservoirs are being asked to help shape the future of these popular sites by completing an online survey.

As visitor numbers to both reservoirs have increased in recent years, the survey will help Scottish Water find out how people enjoy the reservoirs and their perceptions of them.

Insights will also help inform how we continue to promote responsible behaviour and water safety at reservoirs – vital knowledge for anyone accessing the great outdoors.

These reservoirs are popular destinations for outdoor activities, such as mountain biking, hiking, dog walking and non-motorised water sports.

Georgina Reid, Scottish Water's corporate affairs regional manager in the west, said: "We would urge as many people as possible to complete our simple survey. It only takes a few minutes.

"We want to understand what people like and dislike about the areas, establish visitors' needs, and determine their priorities for future improvements.

"Together with our partners and local organisations, we're fully committed to maintaining these popular sites. We want to make the reservoirs the best they can be for locals and visitors alike, while striking a careful balance between operational needs, historical conservation requirements and cost."

Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) is just one of Scottish Water's key partners with a strong interest. They manage the land around Carron Valley Reservoir and are also keen to hear people's views.

Andrew Clark, Regional Visitor Services Manager from Forestry and Land Scotland said: "We are committed to working in partnership with Scottish Water at Carron Valley and are keen to hear what visitors think about the site and priorities for future improvements."

The survey is open for three weeks and can be completed online at www.scottishwater.co.uk/carronvalleyreservoir. Paper copies can also be made available on request by emailing the project team via CorporateAffairsWestTeam@scottishwater.co.uk or by calling 0800 0778 778.
