Ahead of Scottish Housing Day on 15 September 2021, Taylor Wimpey East Scotland and Kingdom Housing Association have started work to deliver 29 affordable homes and apartments for social rent on land off Aberdour Road in Dunfermline.
This parcel of land within Taylor Wimpey's Meadowlands development will provide a mix of two and three bedroom homes, as well as two bedroom apartments, which will be available for future tenants of Kingdom Housing Association in 2022.
Bill Banks, Kingdom Group Chief Executive said: "It's really encouraging to see the progress being made at Meadowlands. This second phase of the development delivers a varied mix of homes that will suit a range of tenants and, with the theme of Scottish Housing Day this year being the climate emergency, I'm pleased that all of these homes will be highly energy efficient. That's better for our tenants in terms of reduced energy costs and it's better for the environment too."
Pauline Mills, Land and Planning Director at Taylor Wimpey East Scotland added: "We are so pleased that working together with Kingdom Housing Association to deliver 29 much-needed affordable homes is progressing so well. It marks another milestone on the journey towards creating a diverse place to call home that complements the existing local community at our Meadowlands development.
"Seeing the progress that has been made on-site by our local NHBC Pride in the Job winner, Site Manager Duncan Currie, and his team in just a few months sends a strong signal to the local community of our determination to deliver this aspect of the overall Meadowlands master plan vision, and we are looking forward to the completed properties being handed over next year to provide homes for Kingdom's tenants.
"As one of the largest housebuilders in the UK, we are committed to building more than homes and making sure that we add social, economic and environmental value to the wider communities that we operate in – the delivery of 29 affordable homes at Meadowlands is part of that commitment being delivered locally in the Dunfermline area."
