Construction has been completed on the latest phase of Inverclyde Council's educational improvement programme in Port Glasgow with support from Arc-Tech (Scotland).
Providing turnkey Mechanical and Electrical services, the Glasgow-based contractor undertook works on behalf of hub West Scotland for Inverclyde Council – alongside Main Contractor CCG (Scotland) – for a new build extension to the Rainbow Family Centre (Park Farm) in Port Glasgow whilst works continue at a second project, Larkfield Early Years Centre, in Greenock which is due for completion later this year.
Mechanical ventilation, domestic water services and above ground drainage, as well as lighting, small power, fire detection, security and data systems, are amongst the broad range of services that have been installed over the course of the respective construction programmes.
The projects mark a continuation of works over a three-year duration by Arc-Tech that includes a further three education facilities as part of £260m investment to improve the availability of free early learning and schooling facilities across the Inverclyde region.
John Gallacher, Arc-Tech Managing Director, said: "Our work in the Education sector continues to grow with our projects in Inverclyde being a key part of this journey. The Rainbow Family Centre extension allows the facility to offer space for 64 more children which is fantastic for the families of the local community. We look forward to bringing the Larkfield Early Years Centre to completion over the coming months and hope to work with hub West Scotland and the Council again in the near future."
Alongside the creation of the Larkfield Early Years Centre, Arc-Tech continues to provide support to Maxi Construction at Balerno High School, Edinburgh, as well as BAM Construct UK and a new extension at Pinewood ASN (Assisted Special Needs) School in Blackburn, West Lothian.
