Redevelopment plans for Elgin City Centre are set to be on display at an event this weekend.

Moray Council is inviting families to Cooper Park on Saturday 28 August, where a pop-up QR code trail will showcase the Masterplan from the recent consultation on overhauling the centre of Elgin.

As well as viewing the plans, families will also be asked for their input to the future regeneration on South Street and High Street down to the North Port precinct, Cooper Park and the Town Hall.

Running from 10am until 4pm there will be activities for children to take part in to have their say on what they'd like to see in the park specifically. For adults there will be the chance to ask the team behind the plans questions and give their feedback.


Entries from Moray's young people to the Cooper Park design competition, which ran earlier this year, will also be on display throughout the day.

Chair of the Economic Growth, Housing and Environmental Sustainability Committee, Cllr Graham Leadbitter, said: "We've had to delay this family event due to Covid restrictions but now we're able to host this display so people can come down to Cooper Park and see the plans for themselves.

"I often find it helps to see the vision in that larger scale to build the picture of what the centre of Elgin could look like. It's a great opportunity to ask your questions about the redevelopment plans and give feedback on them. We look forward to seeing everyone with an interest in regenerating Moray on 28 August."
