New Dingwall City Centre Development Set To Be Completed

Construction News Image
A new development, comprising 30 flats and two retail units, on Mart Road in Dingwall city centre is set to be completed in September.

The multi-million pound project will see the creation of 30 flats to enhance the character of this conservation area, with residents benefitting from easy access to shops and amenities. Designed by CH Architecture (who designed the award-winning Falls of Shin Visitor Centre) with O'Brien Homes as lead contractor, the residential units are set for occupation in Q4, 2021 managed by the Highland Council and Highland Housing Alliance.

Speaking about the soon-to-be-completed development, ARK Estates Managing Director, Willie Gray, said: "We're delighted to bring this exciting new development for Dingwall to fruition. It will provide essential housing for the area as well as smaller commercial units which should be more attractive to business owners than the current proposition. We hope the transformation of this part of Mart Road and the High Street will be a catalyst for further development and regeneration."

As part of the development, two historic properties which face onto the High Street are being retained and refurbished. The new blocks will be accessed by a passageway from the High St, which opens to a landscaped pedestrian plaza, providing residents with external space and promoting the sense of community.

Unit 1 and Unit 2, 68 High Street, are two small retail units occupying a prime location on Dingwall's main pedestrianised shopping street. Unit 2 has already been leased by a long term tenant, Ruth Foot Clinic, while Unit 1 is still available.

Unit 1 is 88.8 sq m (955 sq ft), comprising a main retail area and accessible WC, and is offered for lease at £12,000 per annum. With ample free public parking nearby, the property is offered plasterboard-lined with mains water, electricity and a WC.

Floor plan is available on application to the leasing agent.

Unit 2 is 61.4 sq m (660 sq ft), comprising a main retail area and accessible WC.
