"The next decade is critical for our sector as the way we use, manage, and even think about energy evolves at pace. The Energy Festival provides a perfect opportunity to inspire the next generation to power change and help us power our communities to net zero."

Elliott Brown, Co-Director of Energy Festival, added: "Working with Dundee Science Centre to create the Inspire zone is really important to us at Energy Festival. We want to bring out the fun in science and technology, engaging with young people in an environment that you don't often see STEM. The sports and adventure surroundings provide an ideal playground for learning and creating sparks of interest in activities usually reserved for the technology lab. We are extremely grateful that Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks are supporting us in creating the Inspire zone for everyone to participate in."

Carlene Cura, Development and Fundraising Advisor, Dundee Science Centre, said: "We are absolutely thrilled to be heading up the Inspire zone where visitors of all ages can get immersed in some brilliant hands-on experiments and demos.

"Families and friends have been waiting for an event like this for so long and the Energy Festival will be a brilliant environment to have a go, compete and enjoy some brilliant inspirational activities out in the fresh air. Try out our infrared camera, cool down with some fake snow or get creative with some 'make and take' activities. Groups of friends and family also love competing so we've lined up lots of challenges with the chance to win free tickets to come back and see us at Dundee Science Centre in the weeks ahead!"
