CCG (Scotland) Ltd has created 20 new jobs with the launch of a new factory and product range.

The firm joined forces with global supplier, REHAU, to introduce a new range of PVCu windows and doors, which will be manufactured in a brand new, semi-automated manufacturing facility at the group's headquarters in Glasgow. The new product range will be developed using REHAU UK's fabrication and R&D services.

These company strides have resulted in the creation of 20 new jobs, with the the products set to augment CCG's construction and housebuilding programmes as well as their burgeoning maintenance/ refurbishment division which offers full supply and fit services for occupied homes.

Stuart Glen has been appointed to the role of CCG Manufacturing Factory (PVCu) Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the new facility.

Commenting on his appointment, Stuart said: "When the opportunity to join CCG arose, it was something that I could not turn down. I have worked in the industry for over 40 years so I was aware of the company's profile and I am delighted to be here. For our factory, we have invested in the very latest manufacturing technology as well as expert tradespeople who have combined to deliver a first-class standard of product. John Paton, CCG Manufacturing Manager, commented: "CCG has been mainstream in the production of timber windows and doors for over 10 years but we felt the Group would benefit from a new product offering using PVCu. It has a lifespan in excess of 40 years and is manufactured using up to 80% recyclable materials; these characteristics very much align with our values in creating sustainable, quality solutions for our clients.

"I am delighted with Stuart and his team's efforts so far. The expertise possessed by our carefully chosen staff, alongside the CCG/ REHAU UK partnership, will ensure that we can offer quality, practical and affordable solutions to support our clients, tenants and homeowners across the country."

Alastair Wylie, Chairman and Chief Executive, CCG (Scotland), added: "This new factory and product range highlights CCG's commitment to Scottish construction and manufacturing. We are in no doubt that our economy will face considerable challenges in the coming years but the need for more homes and the jobs that are created as a result, remain fundamental to our economy. We are also driving forward efforts to make homes more energy efficient in support refurbishment and new housebuilding standards."
