Scottish Water have appointed Morrison Construction to carry out works on its behalf through a place on lot 2 of Delivery Vehicle 2.
The framework, worth up to £350m to Morrison Construction over six years, has extension options of up to six years.
The appointment represents another strategic win with a key client and will cover planned civil engineering projects between £250,000 and £1.5m including pipelaying, drainage and capital maintenance of Scottish Water assets. They will be carried out over the SR21-26 Investment period with a possible extension into the SR27 investment period.
Steve Slessor, Managing Director for Morrison Construction's Environment business, commented: "The majority of our work in this sector is conducted within long-established collaborative relationships developed over many years, engendering a genuine sense of partnership so we are delighted to have been selected once again by Scottish Water on this important delivery vehicle for water and wastewater infrastructure. We look forward to working in partnership to deliver industry-leading innovation, efficiency and lower carbon initiatives while supporting a sustainable supply chain."
Douglas Millican, Scottish Water's Chief Executive, said: "We set out our strategic ambitions for the future of the country's water and wastewater services in the face of unprecedented challenges from climate change and aging infrastructure in February 2020.
"Partners will play a critical role in helping us achieve the change needed, on the scale and speed required to meet the dual challenges of providing services the public can rely on and addressing the impact of a changing world climate on our infrastructure."
