Falkirk Council has committed to providing more than 600 news homes over the next five years.
Planned investment will bring large social housing developments to locations near Denny High School, Woodend Farm and Banknock South.
Smaller developments in Stenhousemuir, Bonnybridge, Bo'ness, Polmont, Bainsford and Falkirk will also bring social housing to the Falkirk area's three localities.
Almost a quarter of the new properties will cater for tenants with additional needs, such as older people and those who use wheelchairs.
Buy backs
Falkirk Council continues its 'buy back' programme, purchasing ex-Council properties to help meet affordable housing demand in the area.
581 former Council properties have been bought back since 2013 - that number is set to increase by another 400 by 2025/2026.
Councillor Gordon Hughes, Council spokesperson for Housing said: "One of our priorities is to build more affordable homes across the Falkirk Council area.
"Social housing helps thousands of people find a home every year. Everyone has a right to a roof over their head, and our investment programme over the next five years will create more than 600 quality, affordable new homes for people living in the area.
"We're committed to improving quality of life where we can, and we will continue to do our utmost during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic."
The Strategic Housing Investment Plan helps to achieve targets set in the Local Housing Strategy. It helps us bring affordable housing to the Falkirk area based on priority locations.
