Stirling Council has granted planning permission for the development of 44 new homes on the former MFI site in St. Ninians.

Members of the Planning and Regulation Panel greenlit plans by Developers Allanwater Developments for the plot at Maitland Crescent.

The proposal comprises of 4 one bedroom apartments, 20 two bedroom apartments, 7 two bedroom terraced houses, 5 three bedroom terraced houses, 2 three bedroom semi-detached houses, 4 three bedroom detached houses and 2 four bedroom detached houses. The development also includes three parking courts and a central green.


Convenor of the Planning and Regulation Panel, Councillor Alasdair MacPherson, said: "This project will provide a supply of good quality, energy efficient housing on a site that has lain vacant for a number of years. We are committed to providing new homes for those who need them and I look forward to the project being developed."

Vice Convenor, Councillor Danny Gibson, said: "These new houses will be built at a prominent location on a key entrance into Stirling city centre, and ensuring a positive reuse of the site is an important step in improving the area for the communities who already live there."
