Glasgow Housing Association (GHA) has raised more than £13,000 for charity by recycling dumped household items such as washing machines and cookers.
Neighbourhood environmental teams based at the Lyoncross depot in Pollok collected more than 18 tons of waste metal in the past year, sold it for scrap and raised around £2000.
They've collected more than 120 tons of dumped waste metal over the past seven years and donated £13000 to good causes in that time.
Charities which have benefited over the years include Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice and Alzheimer Scotland as well as community groups, youth football teams and local projects.
The discarded items removed from back courts and bin shelters – including microwave ovens, washing machines, trampolines, bed frames and more – would otherwise have ended up in landfill.
It's been a good way for staff from GHA – part of Wheatley Group – to keep neighbourhoods clean and tidy and provide a much-needed boost for good causes at the same time.
Tenant Margaret McMillan, who chairs GHA's local committee in Pollok, said: "Our environmental teams do a fantastic job.
"Recycling these unwanted items has been great for the environment in our communities.
"It's keeping the place clean and tidy and is a fantastic way of raising much-needed funds for charities and local groups.
"I think it's a great idea – and an important way of keeping the community spirit going."
Maria Corrigan, GHA's Environmental Delivery Lead, added: "The guys at Lyoncross have done a great job over the years at preventing items going to landfill and raising so much for charity at the same time."
