The Scottish Federation of Housing Associations' (SFHA) Property Repairs and Asset Management Conference, taking place on 03 December at the Aches in Glasgow city centre, will have a "green focus".

The Arches has achieved a Bronze Level Green Tourism Award, and the venue has been shortlisted in the Glasgow Business Awards, for the Green Champion Award, in recognition of the various projects it has undertaken.

The venue's aim is to create a fully sustainable business where green issues are at the forefront of all it does.


The venue has recently installed LED lighting throughout the space to reduce power costs, and it is working with Changeworks to ensure all waste is streamed and its recycling rate maximised.

This year's SFHA Property Repairs and Asset Management Conference focuses on the theme of sharing best practice. The conference will see SFHA members, associates and partners share practical examples and innovative approaches of how they have worked together.  

The event will feature a range of practical, to the point, sessions, including:

• a session on tenements lead by Euan Leitch, BEFS, and Professor Douglas Robertson, University of Stirling

• speakers from Maryhill Housing Association and Riverclyde Homes talking about their latest innovative developments

• a workshop on digital asset management.

Day rates for the conference start at £229 for SFHA  members and £319 for non-members. If you book three places, you will receive a fourth day place for free.
