Scotland's Towns Partnership have announced their annual Towns Conference, which will bring together 150+ senior level stakeholders from across public, private and third sectors, working to support our towns and city districts.
The conference is a once-a-year chance to get together with national and international place stakeholders; share challenges and opportunities; and to feel inspired and re-energised by the latest thinking, pilots and supports, funding and resources for your place.
The event will be hosted in Aberdeen Music Hall by Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council. Principal sponsor is Blachere Illumination.
A pre-conference comedy night (19 November) is brought to you by Aberdeen Inspired, direct from Aberdeen International Comedy Festival.
The focus of the conference includes: In the face of changing economic, socio-demographic, technological and environmental factors, how do we futureproof our towns and cities?
Scotland's Towns Conference 2019 will focus on the need to change the paradigm; through the creation of new economies; and recognising the role of emergent City and Regional Growth Deals and Partnerships in improving the interdependent relationship of hub cities and hinterland towns.
Hosted by Journalist and Broadcaster Nicky Marr, the programme includes, inspirational keynotes and conversations, a Walking Conference, 'future-proofing' showcase, exhibition, Future Town Design Competition and ample time to network and connect. Contributors include, leaders from international, national and local governments and agencies, corporate and community organisations.
