Ayrshire Housing Submit Application For New Housing Development

Ayrshire Housing have submitted a planning application for 34 new flats, close to Ayr's Gaiety Theatre.

Designed by Ayr architects ARPL the project aims to significantly widen the choice of accommodation in the town centre. With lift access, all the one and two bedroom flats are designed to suit the needs of older and disabled households.

The housing association has said that given the busy location, privacy will be assured by a private courtyard entrance combined with roof gardens.

The association has worked closely with the owners of the adjacent Kyle Centre to ensure that the proposal complements their own plans for a major leisure attraction.

With grant support from the Scottish Government through South Ayrshire Council, the association is hoping to start work on the development in the spring of 2020.

The plans can be viewed at South Ayrshire Council's planning portal.
