Arc-Tech has announced the third year of their trade apprenticeship programme with two new young people joining the firm.
The company now employs 12 trade apprentices and 2 trainees as part of an overall recruitment drive that has seen them grow to become one of Scotland's best players in the provision of Mechanical, Electrical and Renewable services, employing over 100 staff and securing an annual turnover over £15m.
Nathan Gallacher (16) and Finn McCarte (17), both studying to become electricians, will undertake an industry-recognised, 4-year programme and will be immediately based on one of the company's contracts to gain valuable site-based experience.
Nathan, from Wishaw in North Lanarkshire, said: "I am really excited with this opportunity as I will be learning and earning at the same time. Gaining the skills and knowledge of the trade will allow me to understand what is happening on-site, and allow me to be more productive and independent while I work. It will also provide me with a career for life and that is also very important to me. I will be studying at Motherwell which is great as it is easy to travel to from my home. I'm just really excited to start."
Arc-Tech can count Ogilvie Construction, Robertson, ISG and Glasgow Airport, amongst others, as their clients and it is this diversity of clients and contracts that Contracts Director Alan Rogers feels will stand their young staff in good stead as they embark on their career.
Alan said: "Since our inception in 2016, we have invested heavily in securing experienced, knowledgeable people that we knew could take our company forward. This has paid off substantially as we have taken a foothold in the marketplace; we are now well known to provide the highest standards of workmanship and customer service. However, we do not want to stand still and acknowledge the importance of skills replenishment. Our apprentice and trainee staff are performing very well and I am sure our two new boys will follow suit. I look forward to seeing how they advance over the coming years."
