Fife Council have announced an investment of £97,000 to improve the road network in Tayport.
The council will be carrying out carriageway resurfacing on the B946 Newport Road, Tayport from Friday 16 August to Monday 19 August 2019.
Cllr Altany Craik, Convener of Economy, Tourism, Strategic Planning and Transportation Committee said: "We maintain over 2,400 km of roads in Fife and we spend millions each year repairing and improving them.
"Our road network is vital to support economic development, inward investment, tourism, leisure and travel to work. Almost everyone in Fife uses our roads on a daily basis, which is why this type of maintenance work is so essential."
Newport Road will be resurfaced from Scotscraig Drive to Ferry Port on Craig Cemetery. To carry out these works safely the road will be closed for the duration and a signposted diversion will be in place. The diversion route is via the B946, A92, A914 and B945 - see attached map.
Access will be maintained for emergency services and pedestrians.
Bus services will be affected by these works.
Cllr Craik concluded: "We apologise for any inconvenience and delay caused by these essential works, and we will try to keep any disturbance to a minimum. Your patience and co-operation during this time is greatly appreciated."
