CCG has been nominated as a finalist for this year's 'Innovation in Housing' Award for Admiral Street, at the Saltire Society's annual Housing and Design Awards, one of the most prestigious on the Scottish calendar and for 2019
Located in the south side of Glasgow, the affordable housing development consists of 35 one and two-bedroom flats and is a leading example for 'offsite' Modern Methods of Construction with the utilisation of a hybrid timber frame and Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) superstructure.
CCG has actively researched and developed the applied use of CLT in housing delivery since 2015 first with Ellerslie Road, where the primary material for the seven-storey building's superstructure was CLT and now with Admiral Street where the solution has been utilised alongside CCG's 'iQ' Timber System.
The aim of its use (common closes, stairwells and lift shaft) has been to understand if CLT can offer improved site efficiencies when compared with its traditional material counterparts in the delivery of flatted housing, to ultimately advantage quality standards, the construction programme and health and safety.
Check out the Admiral Street Case Study for more information.
A second CCG project has also reached the finals for the awards. Anderston Regeneration is one of CCG's flagship projects that was completed in late-2018 after nearly ten years of construction.
Comprising a total of 542 mixed tenure homes to the west of Glasgow city centre, the multi-phase regeneration culminated with Phase 4 & 5 where 206 flats were constructed along St Vincent Street and with it, creating a new sense of place for the Anderston community. An exemplar for the use of 'offsite' methods of construction, the development has been nominated in the Multiple Dwellings category of the Housing Awards.

The Saltire Housing and Design Awards are set to take place on the 25th of June at the Scottish Parliament.
