Up to £300,000 is set to be invested in a new synthetic pitch at Dawson Park to allow multi-sports use at the facility.
The neighbourhood services committee will be asked to approve investment of £270,000 in a 2G surface that would allow both football and hockey to be played. A fence at the pitch would also be replaced.
Councillors will hear that an independent sports consultant investigated the situation and made recommendations that fitted in with the Dundee Sports Pitch Strategy.
Meanwhile, there were consultation meetings with key stakeholders including sportscotland Grove Academy, Leisure & Culture Dundee, Scottish Football Association, Scottish Hockey, Grove Menzieshill Hockey Club and other local partner organisations.
The committee will hear that the masterplan for Dawson Park is reviewed and updated incorporating the feedback from this consultation exercise.
Neighbourhood services convener Councillor Kevin Cordell said: "This is an investment that will allow many people to benefit from a surface that is designed for multi-sports use.
"I would like to thank the sports clubs and organisations who have helped to shape these recommendations. Their input has been vital and has proved, yet again, that there are strong and enthusiastic sports communities across this city.
"In light of their ideas and input, I think it is important that we look again at the masterplan for Dawson Park. This will help us shape the future for this popular park, which is popular for a wide range of activities."
The neighbourhood services committee meets on Monday 03 June.
